CZECH'S GET 1ST OVERALL

On Sunday night, the Draft Lottery went in favour of Trevor Ellsworth and his Czech Republic squad, as he outlasted the other GM's to win the chance to choose 1st.

Getting the 1st overall pick has yet to translate into success on the floor.  Although last season, Marcio Mendes traded out of the 1st overall spot and navigated his way to a berth in the Legacy Cup Final.  Ultimately losing to Greg Rayburn and the Russians.  Rayburn began the draft with the 7th pick, but made a complete swap of picks with Laine Larson and the Germans, to move into the 2 spot.

This season Rayburn's Russian's were chosen in the 6 spot.  Joe Hilborn (USA) picks 3rd, Richard Demery (Canada) 4th, Seth Jackson (Slovakia) 5th, Mike Gandey (Germany) 7th, and Paul Gach (Finland) 8th.

It did not take long for the wheeling and dealing to get underway...as the Canadians and Fins made a complete swap of picks to kick things off.

Trades, as they happen, will be listed below.  The draftboard will be updated as well.

TRADE #1 - CANADA trades picks 4, 13, 20, 29, 36, and 45 to FINLAND for picks 8, 9, 24, 25, 40, and 41

TRADE #2 - CZECH REPUBLIC trades picks 17, 32, and 48 to CANADA for picks 24, 25 and 40
